Hyderabad: A 23-year-old woman sustained severe injuries after she jumped from a moving train near Alwal railway station to escape a man who allegedly harassed and attempted to assault her sexually. The incident took place on the night of March 22, 2025, when the woman was returning home from Secunderabad.

A Routine Journey Turns into a Nightmare

The survivor, who works in inventory management at Swiggy, had travelled to Secunderabad in the afternoon to repair her mobile phone display. After getting the repair done, she headed to Secunderabad Railway Station, where she bought a general ticket for Medchal and boarded the Telapur-Medchal MMTS train at 7:15 PM from Platform No. 10.
Initially, the journey seemed uneventful. But around 8:15 PM, after two female passengers got off at Alwal railway station, she found herself alone in the ladies' coach, except for an unknown man who had suddenly approached her.

Harassment in a Moving Train

The suspect, described as a thin, dark-skinned man around 25 years old, wearing a checked shirt and shorts, came near her and made inappropriate demands. "He told me he wanted me and asked for sexual favours," she later told the police.
Shocked and frightened, she firmly rejected him, saying she was not that kind of person. However, the man refused to back off and tried to force himself on her.
Fearing for her safety, the survivor made a split-second decision—she jumped from the moving train. As she hit the ground, she suffered severe bleeding injuries on her head, chin, right hand, and waist. In the fall, she also lost her train ticket.
Passersby who saw her injured and bleeding immediately called an ambulance. She was rushed to Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad, where she received medical attention.

Police Investigation Underway

The incident was officially reported to the authorities the following afternoon, on March 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM. She told the police that she could identify her attacker if she saw him again.
Based on her complaint, the police have launched an investigation to track down the suspect.
