Following their selection in the Grade C category on Monday, all-rounder Shreyanka Patil, wicketkeeper-batter Uma Chetry, medium-pace all-rounders Arundhati Reddy and Amanjot Kaur, and promising young bowler Titas Sadhu were given their first BCCI women’s central contract for the 2024–25 season.

However, at the maximum salary of Rs 50 lakh, Indian women’s team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, and star all-rounder Deepti Sharma have maintained their position in the Grade A category.

After sustaining a season-ending stress fracture in her back during the second and third Women’s Premier League (WPL) seasons, Amanjot is the only new player who has not yet made her India return. As MI won its second championship in three years, the all-rounder from Punjab and MI, who last played for India in January 2024, was just awarded the WPL 2025 Emerging Player of the Season.

Meghna Singh, Devika Vaidya, S Meghana, Anjali Sarvani, and Harleen Deol—who just made her comeback to the national squad and scored her first ODI century—are among the notable players left out of Group C.

Arundhati Reddy, who made her ODI and T20I comebacks last season, has managed to clinch a berth in the Grade C, Rs 10 lakh retainer category despite slipping the selectors’ notice.

Rajeshwari Gayakwad, a left-arm spinner in Grade B, was dropped after losing the favor of the selectors. She hasn’t played in a white-ball match since September 2023, when she was last seen in India’s one-off Test match against South Africa in Chennai. Four players remain in the Rs 30 lakh category for Grade B: Shafali Verma, who hasn’t played for the country since the T20 World Cup 2024, Renuka Thakur, Richa Ghosh, and Jemimah Rodrigues.

Even though Pooja Vastrakar hasn’t played since the UAE T20 World Cup, she still maintains her Grade C contract.

The women’s central contract list of the BCCI for the 2024–25 campaign:

Grade A: Deepti Sharma, Smriti Mandhana, and Harmanpreet Kaur

Renuka Singh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, and Shafali Verma received a B grade.

Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, Titas Sadhu, Arundathi Reddy, Amanjot Kaur, Uma Chetry, Sneh Rana, Pooja Vastrakar, and Yastika Bhatia received a grade of C.
