TATA IPL 2025 Points Table: IPL 2025 has started with a bang and all the teams have played one match each in the group stage. The 18th season of the IPL started with a match between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 22. At the same time, the last match of the first round was played between Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings on Tuesday. In the first match of IPL 2025, RCB defeated defending champion KKR in its own home. After losing the toss and batting first, the defending champion team scored 174 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs based on a century partnership between Ajinkya Rahane and Sunil Narine. In reply, RCB scored 177 runs for the loss of three wickets in 16.2 overs and won the match by seven wickets. RCB also has a better net run rate and is second in the table.

Punjab started with a win under the leadership of Shreyas.

On the other hand, Punjab, playing under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, defeated Gujarat by 11 runs in a thrilling match. In this match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Punjab, who came to bat first after losing the toss, scored 243 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs, thanks to the partnership of 81* runs between Shreyas Iyer and Shashank Singh. In the first El Clasico match of this season, five-time champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced IPL's most successful team Mumbai Indians. Mumbai's batting was poor in this match and Chennai won the match with the batting of Rituraj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra after the brilliant bowling of Noor Ahmed. Delhi Capitals started their campaign by defeating Lucknow Super Giants by one wicket, thanks to Ashutosh Sharma's half-century innings. Lucknow, who came to bat first after losing the toss, scored 209 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs, thanks to the explosive half-century innings of Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh. In reply, Delhi scored 211 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 19.3 overs and won the match.
