Women in Football (WIF) has doubled down on its mission to reshape the football industry, unveiling four heavyweight non-executive director appointments.
The UK-based non-profit has welcomed to its board: Maggie Murphy, sports business and strategy consultant; Rafaela Pimienta, leading football agent and lawyer; Nuria Tarre, Chief Marketing and Fan Experience Officer at City Football Group; and Zoe Webber, Executive Director at Norwich City FC.
According to WIF, the new board members bring a breadth of experience across global football governance, commercial strategy, player representation and leadership – all crucial to helping the organisation evolve and expand its impact.
The appointments are expected to amplify WIF’s voice in the game, shaping strategy and strengthening collaborations with leaders across football and sport.
WIF Chair Ebru Köksal, CFA, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Maggie, Nuria, Rafaela and Zoe to the WIF board as of 1 April 2025. Their appointment marks an exciting step forward in our mission to drive meaningful and lasting change in the game.
“Throughout the recruitment process, we were truly humbled by the incredible calibre and number of applicants, which is a testament to the growing momentum behind our work and the collective desire to shape a more inclusive football industry.
“Given the exceptional talent and experience we encountered, we made the decision to expand our board beyond our initial plans by appointing four outstanding non-executive directors.”
Currently, WIF boasts a network of over 11,000 professionals and aspiring individuals across the football industry and a board stacked with high-profile leaders.
These include Paul Barber OBE, Chief Executive and Deputy Chairman of Brighton & Hove Albion FC; Ben Carter, Chief Marketing Officer at CarWow; Monique Choudhuri, Managing Director at Versify Consulting; and Jo Tongue MBE, CEO of Tongue Tied Media.
“Each of these accomplished leaders brings a wealth of strategic insight and industry influence, as well as international experience, spanning areas such as football governance, commercial strategy, player representation, and leadership in global organisations,” Köksal concluded.
“Their expertise will be instrumental in shaping our long-term vision, strengthening our advocacy for inclusion and equity, and forging new collaborations across the football ecosystem.”
