These allegations seem to be completely baseless.

Chennai Super Kings has been banned

However, Chennai has been banned before. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), one of the most successful teams in the IPL, was suspended for two years in 2016 and 2017. This decision was taken due to the spot-fixing and betting controversy in 2013. CSK official Gurunath Meiyappan, who was the son-in-law of BCCI President N. Srinivasan, was found guilty of betting and leaking inside information. 

The Lodha Committee constituted by the Supreme Court recommended strict action, which led to CSK and Rajasthan Royals (RR) being banned for two years. This was a big blow for CSK and its fans. MS Dhoni called it one of the toughest challenges of his career. However, in 2018, CSK made a spectacular comeback and restored its reputation by winning the IPL trophy for the third time.

IPL 2025 CSK vs MI match status

Talking about this match, Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai in El Clasico of IPL. MI, who came to bat first after losing the toss, lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma in the very first over. His wicket was taken by Khalil Ahmed. Actually, Ahmed was the first to attack from Chennai in this match. He pushed Mumbai on the backfoot by taking two wickets in the beginning. Ahmed took three wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs.

Mumbai had not yet recovered from Khalil's attacks when Noor Ahmed trapped Chennai in the magic of his spin. Noor Ahmed completely destroyed Mumbai with his sharp bowling. He destroyed the batting line-up of Mumbai Indians by taking the wickets of Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma and Robin Minj. Ahmed took 4 wickets for 18 runs in his 4 overs. 

Mumbai finally scored 155 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs thanks to Deepak Chahar's innings. In response, Chennai Super Kings also did not have a good start when Rahul Tripathi was out after scoring 2 runs in the second over. However, after this, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra made a brilliant partnership and brought them to the threshold of victory. Chennai scored 158 runs for the loss of 6 wickets on the first ball of the last over and started IPL 2025 with a win.
