Delhi Budget 2025: Rekha Gupta Announces ‘CM Shri Schools’, Free Laptops & Smart Classrooms For Education Sector

Delhi Budget 2025: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta delivered her vision for the capital's education sector with a slew of ambitious initiatives in her first budget presentation. Digital learning, infrastructure improvement and multilingual education take priority within the FY26 budget, showcasing the government's dedication to nurturing a strong academic atmosphere.One of the highlights of the budget is the allocation of ₹7.5 crore to give free laptops to about 1,200 students with a successful Class 10 examination. Not only does this help bridge the digital divide, but it also provides students with powerful tools for modern education.Building on the commitment to educational excellence, the government announced the establishment of 'CM Shri Schools', after the 'PM Shri Schools'. These institutions are expected to provide high-quality education across Delhi with an initial outlay of ₹100 crore for their establishment.It allocates ₹100 crore for transforming 60,000 classrooms into smart classrooms to improve digital infrastructure within the schools that already exist. Founded computer labs at a cost of ₹50 crore for 175 at the best sector's college to create a world-class digital facility for students. ​People must be able to speak more than one language in a globalized world, and therefore the government intends to establish 100 new language laboratories named after Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. With a budget allocation of ₹21 crores, these labs will teach languages, including French, German English, and Spanish. ​The government has shown its commitment to developing an inclusive and futuristic educational ecosystem in Delhi through these announcements. Providing students with the skills they need to succeed in an ever-more globalized world through digital tools, modern infrastructure, and language training.
