But let us tell you that it is not just the song that people love but also the actor in it. If you don’t remember who we are talking about then let us tell you that the actor in discussion is none other than the iconic and late actor Farooq Sheikh.
Sheikh was among the finest actors in the industry. Interestingly he was never seen in any action film negative role or violent character. He always had a calm demeanor which was loved by audiences. While today we hail the late actor his journey had its share of highs and lows.
Did you know that Farooqs father was never in favor of his son becoming an actor? The moment he came to know about his sons career choice he decided not to speak to him.
Farooq completed his law degree from Siddharth College of Law after studying at St. Xaviers and his father hoped that he would become a lawyer. However from his school days Sheikh was attracted to acting and started considering it as a career. When famous director M.S. Sathyu offered him a role in his first film Sheikh agreed and did not even charge a penny as per News18 reports.
He was overjoyed to receive the offer to work in the film Garam Hawa. When he shared his excitement and the films story with his father his fathers anger faded. To win his fathers approval Sheikh explained the story in a simple manner which ultimately convinced him.
This was a time when directors had limited resources and wanted to cast actors who would not charge money. However after the release of the film it became a hit and earned Farooq immense praise.
After delivering some of the biggest films of the 1970s and 1980s Sheikh moved away from the industry only to return in 2009. He made a comeback with the film Lahore which won a National Award.
