In a shocking incident, a man shot dead a 16-year-old girl and her father before killing himself at the Ara railway station in Bihar on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred on the footbridge connecting platforms 2 and 3, leading to a chaotic situation at the railway station. According to the Ara police, the gunman was identified as Aman Kumar, who shot himself immediately after killing the father-daughter duo. The incident left passengers and officials stunned and bewildered at the railway station.

As per a senior police official of the Bhojpur district, all three died on the spot. The motive behind the killings is yet to be ascertained, but officials suspect that it may have been triggered by a love affair gone sour.
 

Reportedly, the incident occurred at around 5 pm on Tuesday evening, when the railway station was bustling with passengers. The eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with people running helter-skelter, screaming and crying. The sound of gunfire sent panic waves through the station, with many passengers rushing to safety.

"I was standing on the platform, waiting for my train, when I heard the sound of gunfire," said an eyewitness. He further added, "I saw people running and screaming, and then I saw the bodies lying on the footbridge. It was a horrific sight."
 

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, with forensic experts collecting evidence from the spot. The police are also questioning eyewitnesses and relatives of the deceased to piece together the events leading up to the tragedy.

"We are investigating the incident from all angles," said Bhojpur district's Superintendent of Police, Raj, adding that the police are looking into the possibility of a love affair gone sour. However, he stated that the police cannot rule out other motives at this stage.
 

Railway Protection Force (RPF) Senior Commandant Prakash Panda said, "As per initial information, the incident took place on platform number 2, and three bodies have been recovered. A love angle is suspected; the rest will be confirmed once we reach the spot. A man reportedly killed another man first, followed by the man's daughter."

The incident has left the family and friends of the deceased girl in a state of shock and grief. Sources claimed that the girl, who was just 16 years old, had come to the railway station to board a train to Delhi. Her dreams and aspirations were cut short in a tragic and senseless act of violence.
