The biggest concern when a phone is lost is the data present in it. Your contacts, photos, banking details, and other important information can fall into the wrong hands. To avoid this, you have to take the right steps immediately. If you are not successful in doing this, then with the help of this data, criminals can also empty your bank account and send wrong messages to any contact from your phone. They can even use your photo in the wrong way. In such a situation, let us know some solutions.
Track the phone:
Lost phones can be found through Google and Apple tracking.
Android phone
You can use Find My Device to track the phone. For this, open the Google Find My Device website from another phone or computer. Log in with your Google account, which was in the lost phone. You will see the location of the phone, if the phone is on and connected to the Internet.
Open iCloud on another device. Then log in with your Apple ID. With this, you can see the location of the device. Apple devices have a Last Known Location feature.
Lock the phone and show a message on the screen: If the phone is tracked, lock it immediately and put a message on the screen.
Android
Go to Find My Device select the Secure Device option and lock the phone. Then choose the option to show a custom message (such as this phone is lost, please call this XXXX number) on the screen.
iPhone
Go to iCloud and turn on Last Known Mode. Enter a phone number and message, which will appear on the screen.
Block the SIM card
Contact your network provider and get the SIM card blocked. If you have an Airtel SIM card, call 121, if you have a Jio SIM, call 199. If you have Vodafone-Idea, call 199.
Change the password
Change the passwords of apps and online services immediately to secure them. You can change the password by going to Google Account Security. To change the password of Facebook and Instagram, go to the app or website. You can change the password of net banking on the bank's website or app or inform the bank.
