New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips, who has made a special place in world cricket due to his aggressive batting and difficult catching, has made an interesting statement. The cricketer, who has the strength to do 300 pushups, says that if he had all the money in the world, he would prefer to become a pilot instead of a cricketer.
Phillips loves flying to the extent of passion and when asked about it, this all-rounder, who is playing for Gujarat Titans in IPL, said, 'It is my biggest passion. If I was not playing cricket and I had all the
money in the world, then honestly, I would have probably become a pilot. I like flying in the air.
This 28-year-old South African-born cricketer has flown a two-seater plane
and plays for New Zealand in all three formats. He has flown a two-seater Cessna 152 plane, but due to being busy with cricket, he is unable to fulfill his hobby.
Phillips is considered to be the most agile
fielder in world cricket. In the recently concluded Champions Trophy, he displayed his amazing ability to take difficult catches while waving in the air. He stunned the Indian batsman by taking the catch of Virat Kohli in the same way.
Phillips revealed the secret of his agility
and said, 'I think there is definitely a big part of it that depends on genetics from the point of view of speed and agility, so I think you can say that it is a little bit related to my natural talent, but in the end you move forward on the basis of your skill and talent. The other aspect of this is my hard work and trying my best, so if I drop a catch, it does not mean that I did not try from my side.'
When asked about his best catch,
Phillips said, 'I would probably put Marcus Stoinis' catch in Sydney in the T20 World Cup (2022) at the top. That was a very good catch. I took that catch by diving after covering a large part of the ground.'
