Good Morning Britain's Richard Madeley stunned over 'atrocious' news report

On Wednesday's edition of Good Morning Britain, Richard Madeley didn't hold back in expressing his views following the latest news bulletins.

In the programme's news segment, correspondent Nick Dixon delivered a live report from Cambridgeshire about a distressing incident at a local farm where four alpacas have been shot and killed with a rifle. The farm's owner is reeling from the "senseless" loss after discovering their bodies in her field.

Nick reported: "The police are investigating and they're appealing for anyone with any information however trivial to come forward and help them to try track down the killer or killers."

Presenter Charlotte Hawkins responded: "Nick, thanks very much, let's hope they find who is behind that shocking attack soon! That's it, you're up to date."

Reacting to the report, host Richard was appalled, exclaiming: "What an atrocious thing to do!" to which Charlotte concurred with him, saying: "It's just hideous! I just don't understand what has gone through someone's mind at that stage", reports .

His co-host also chimed in, describing the news as "chilling" with Richard further stating his wish: "I really hope they get caught!".

In other news during Wednesday's episode, was hit with an urgent breaking news alert from Susanna.

Susanna, who was presenting along with Richard, relayed an update regarding the economy to viewers, which came just before the government was due to present its Spring Statement later in the day.

The presenter revealed that inflation had fallen by 0.2 per cent in February, telling viewers: "Our breaking news this morning, good news for the Chancellor perhaps.

"The cost of living fell last month, according to official figures released in the last few minutes. Inflation went down by 0.2 per cent in February.

"But, it still stands at 2.8 per cent. This is the rate at which prices are rising and it's well above the Bank of England's 2 per cent target for inflation."

Susanna's co-host Richard then explained how welfare cuts have been predicted to be included in ' highly anticipated Spring Statement, which will be announced at around 12.30pm on Wednesday, 26 March, with coverage on News.

He and Susanna then welcomed ITV political correspondent Louisa James, who delved further into the figures and shared an insight into the Chancellor's upcoming mini budget.
