It is not uncommon for film to have a delayed release or getting shelved. This is just a part and parcel of the industry despite the negative impact it has on the team. This is about one such film that unfortunately did not see the light of the day until two decades of it of its productions. The movie has a famous star cast yet unforeseen circumstances led to its delay. A lot has changed and evolved in terms of cinema cinematography use of cameras techniques audience and well of ofcourse the actors themselves! This only added to the hardship that the film faced. A project that began in 2004 was finally released in theaters in 2024. The movie was directed by Anees Bazmee and featured Ajay Devgn Sameera Reddy in lead roles. The movie is Naam. Crime Thriller Made 20 Years Ago The Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 director completed the shooting in 2004. Earlier it was being made with the title Benaam. Due to the untimely demise of the one of the producers Dinesh Patel the movie faced several ordeals. In 2019 Bazmee had shared a post on Instagram when he only wishes for the film to be released. He captioned it This was taken in Switzerland while shooting for an unreleased film Naam. It was a suspense thriller that you would have enjoyed. I hope the film releases someday. In an interview Roongta recalled that there we are certain financial strain then there was Covid that only led to delay of the film. He passed away before post-production work was completed. I came on board in 2020 after his daughter and wife approached me to complete it. We got the required permissions and addressed the financial issues. But then the pandemic hit and the film got delayed further. When film business resumed the market was still [dwindling]. We decided to go ahead only when the time was right Mid-day quoted the director. Reportedly Ajay Devgn kept a close tab on the film. Dinesh Patel was the one who launched him in Phool Aur Kaante (1991). Despite the efforts the movie tanked at the box office and earned merely Rs 0.72 crore according to Sacnilk.  The movie features Bhoomika Chawla Rahul Dev Mukesh Tiwari Sharat Saxena Raqesh Bapat among others.
