Bollywood star Alia Bhatt recently opened up about personal growth , setting boundaries, and the lessons she wishes she had known earlier in her career. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the actress revealed that she dislikes being told she has changed, emphasizing that change is essential.

‘Change is good'

When asked about one thing she dislikes hearing, Alia shared, “One thing that I dislike people saying to me is, ‘Ae, you’ve changed.’ And to me, that’s like – okay, I think that’s good. It would be terrifying to be the same person that you were when you were 16 years old. Change is good.”

Alia Bhatt has evolved into one of the industry's most sought-after actresses. She believes that personal and professional growth is natural and necessary.

Three lessons she wishes she knew earlier

Reflecting on her journey, Alia listed three key lessons she wishes someone had told her when she was starting out:

1. “Change is the only constant.”
2. “You don’t have to have it all figured out in life; you can make mistakes along the way and just learn and grow.”
3. *“Always have a snack.”

Her candid response showcased her belief in continuous learning while also adding a touch of humor with her love for snacks.

On setting boundaries and saying no

Alia also spoke about the importance of setting boundaries, a skill she has developed naturally. She explained, “Setting boundaries is just a way of protecting your own energy, and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. Especially as an artist — I’m not sure about other departments, but as an artist, I think a lot of what you give is what you conserve as well. So conserving is okay. That’s your right.”

She further noted that agreeing to everything often means saying no to oneself, reinforcing the idea that self-care is essential for long-term creativity and success.

Upcoming projects

On the work front, Alia Bhatt has an exciting lineup ahead. She will star alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s Love & War , a romantic musical drama set for release on March 20, 2026. Additionally, she is gearing up for her action-packed role in Alpha, part of YRF’s Spy Universe, which is slated to hit theaters this Christmas.
