The highly-anticipated Malayalam crime thriller Officer on Duty released theatrically on February 20 2025. Featuring Kunchacko Boban and Priyamani in lead roles the film was penned by writer-director Shahi Kabir and was jointly bankrolled by Martin Prakkat Films and The Green Room led by Siby Chavara and Ranjith Nair. According to Asianet News the film overtook Rekhachithram with its Kerala Box office collections. While Rekhachithram had held the record for the highest worldwide box office collection in 2025 Officer on Duty reportedly beat it with its successful theatrically run. Made in Rs 12 crore the films worldwide collection stands at Rs 50 crore becoming the most profitable 2025 Mollywood film. Assigned as the Station House Officer in Aluva Hari investigates a seemingly minor case involving a bus conductor attempting to sell a fake gold chain. However this case leads him to a bigger crime network involving fake jewellery abuse and painful events from his own past.
