Sports desk: Former England fast bowler Peter Lever has passed away. Peter Lever, who won the Ashes for England, died at the age of 84. Peter Lever won England in the Ashes in 1970–71. Lever took 41 wickets in 17 Tests and also participated in 10 ODI Internationals, including he was also involved in the historic first ODI against Australia in 1971.
Peter Lever performed brilliantly for the English County Lancashire. Peter Lever made his Test cricket debut for the England team of Raymond Illingworth during the 1970–71 tour of Australia. Lancashire posted the news of his death on X and wrote that we are very sad with the news that 84 -year -old Peter Lever has passed away. Peter was included in our Hall of Fame last year after playing 301 first class matches between 1960 and 1976 – in which he took 796 wickets. Our condolences are with his family and friends.
