The Siddaramaiah government has given a big blow to the people of Karnataka. The Congress government of Karnataka has increased the price of milk to Rs 4 per liter. Earlier, the Sukhu government of Himachal Pradesh had announced to increase milk prices by Rs 6 per liter. According to the report, the price of Nandini milk supplied by the Karnataka Milk Federation has increased by Rs 4 per liter. The cabinet has also increased the price of curd by Rs 4 per kg.

Let us know that this increase has been done before the Ugadi festival, which is celebrated with great pomp in Karnataka on 30 March. Due to this increase, the prices of coffee, tea and all milk products in hotels and sweets shops are going to increase rapidly. In fact, KMF and farmers organizations are demanding an increase of Rs 5 per liter in the price of milk. However, the government has decided to increase milk prices by Rs 4 per liter.

Curd prices also increased with milk

After this, the price of one liter packet of the most popular blue Nandini milk will now increase from Rs 44 to Rs 48. Similarly, the price of a one liter HomoGinized pack will be Rs 47, the price of green pack will be Rs 50 and the saffron packet will be priced at Rs 52. Curd prices will now increase from 50/kg to 54/kg.

Nandini milk launched in Delhi-NCR

Earlier, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had launched the milk products of Nandini brand of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) in the Delhi-NCR market and kept their price slightly lower than the second brand to erupt its penetration in the region. The cooperative institution will sell the retail of four types of cow's milk, curd and buttermilk at a competitive price, which will give tough competition to installed companies like Mother Dairy and Amul.

Nandini collects 100 million liters of milk

KMF currently collects 100 lakh liters of milk per day, out of which the local consumption is 60 lakh liters, which saves a surplus of 40 lakh liters for expansion in the new markets. With a strong infrastructure of 26.76 lakh milk producers, 15,737 dairy cooperative societies and 15 district milk associations, KMF has a turnover of Rs 25,000 crore and exports dairy products to more than 25 countries.
