is coming to an end on BBC One, as DI Mervin Wilson solves his final crime for the 14th series of the show. He replaced Ralf Little, aka DI Neville Parker, who left at the end of the 13th season. Wilson arrived in Saint Marie in the 2024 Christmas special, and quickly learned of his mother's mystery death, which was initially ruled as an accident, but later confirmed to be a shocking murder. In a devastating twist, Commissioner Selwyn was told that he was being phased out of his role, leaving his future with the police of Saint Marie uncertain.
Fans have been left fearing for whether Selwyn, played by Don Warrington, could be set to leave the show for good. Selwyn was forced to tell his team about his pending departure: "I've been keeping something from you which on the advice of my trusted friend, I have decided to share with you all. The position of Saint Marie police commissioner is being phased out. I'm being phased out." But while he stepped in to save the day after being replaced by Sterling Fox, could the Commissioner be set for an emotional farewell?
