Although Virat Kohli seemed in quite a jovial mood following Royal Challengers Bengaluru's commanding 50-run win over the Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk on Friday, he seemed to have a heated confrontation with Khaleel Ahmed. A video of the same surfaced on social media as the 36-year-old was involved in an animated chat with Khaleel but the matter was not clear.
Khaleel, who has been taking the new ball for the Super Kings, celebrated a premature lbw shout against the former RCB captain in the third over of the innings. The 27-year-old had also encouraged the captain to go for the DRS as he was quite confident of it but replays showed the ball had pitched outside leg, meaning the umpire's on-field call stood.

Meanwhile, the former Royal Challengers skipper didn't have as good an outing in Chennai as the veteran did in the IPL 2025 opener. Kohli struggled against the Super Kings' spinners and eventually became one of Noor Ahmad's three victims, falling for 31. However, skipper Rajat Patidar spearheaded their innings with a 31-ball 52, while Phil Salt, Devdutt Padikkal and Tim David also crafted invaluable cameos.
With the ball, Josh Hazlewood ripped through the Super Kings' top-order as he finished with outstanding figures of 4-0-21-3. Yash Dayal and Liam Livingstone took two, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar ended up with one scalp to enable the Royal Challengers to register a couple of wins as many matches.
The Royal Challengers' 50-run victory is also the biggest win registered by any team against the Super Kings in their backyard.
