Uttar Pradesh News: The development work of Gomtinagar railway station in Lucknow is being done on the lines of the airport. Its release process is going to start soon. Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate other railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, although Gomtinagar station is not included in the scheme. Nevertheless, it will be inaugurated at the same time.
After waiting for about six years, Gomtinagar's dream of becoming a world -class station is now going to come true. The Northeast Railway Lucknow division has intensified its preparations. It will be the first world class station in Uttar Pradesh, which is being constructed by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA). The project was approved on 21 May 2018 and a budget of about Rs 385 crore has been set for it.
Travel from halt to railway port
Gomtinagar Halt, which was earlier known for the stoppage of only two passenger trains, is now being converted into a world -class railway port station with five platforms. The scheme was started by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, under which four new platforms were created. Later another platform was built towards Vibhutkhand.
Station spread over ten acres
The RLDA has constructed a commercial block towards Vibhuti section, which has been sold on lease. This income has been used in the development of Gomtinagar station. The station has been constructed in an area of 10 acres. The north -direction terminal building is located on the ground with two floors, while the South Terminal building is on the ground with a floor. Apart from this, 28 meters of property 85 meter air concourse has also been made.
Station equipped with facilities
The station will have facilities like waiting room, cafeteria and lounge. On the new terminal, 14 lifts and 13 accelers have been arranged for passengers. The station building will be illuminated with sunlight. Apart from this, RLDA has also developed two commercial blocks in four lakh square feet area for the purchase of passengers.
The ground floor and four floors have been constructed with double basement in every commercial block. These blocks also have 12 lifts and eight escalators. Along with this, a double basement parking of about 29 thousand sqm has been arranged.
