CM Rekha Gupta said that his government will start running 5,000 electric buses in Delhi this year. This will reduce vehicle pollution on the roads. Not only this, by the end of 2026 next year, all public transport buses in Delhi will be electric. The government's plan is to remove the old CNG buses in a phased manner.
CM Rekha Gupta insisted on another matter in the power conference. He said that the Delhi government is going to increase the number of sprinklers to 1,000. Right now these sprinklers run only 2 months, but their government has ordered it to run it throughout the year. These will be useful to eliminate dust pollution in the capital.
CM Rekha Gupta said that Dust is also a major reason for pollution in the capital. Therefore, his government has called all land agencies like MCD, PWD and ordered to repair roads and eliminate the brown area. At the same time, even after eliminating the pollution of Yamuna, his government is working in mission mode.
Significantly, the EV policy 2.0 of the Delhi government is also to come this year. In such a situation, many big decisions regarding Delhi's pollution control can be seen in this policy.
