Gujarat Titans won their first win in IPL 2025 and defeated Mumbai Indians by 36 runs. In this match played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat batted first and scored a strong score of 196 runs. The team of Mumbai Indians, chasing the target, were reduced to 160 runs.

Gujarat's strong batting

The Gujarat Titans batsmen took an aggressive stance from the beginning. Opener batsmen added runs at a fast pace and the middle order converted it into a good score. During the Gujarat innings, the batsmen made useful contributions, causing the team to reach the challenging score of 196.

Mumbai's weak performance

Mumbai Indians started a poor start to chase the target of 197 runs. Within the first 35 runs, both openers returned to the pavilion. Rohit Sharma 8 and Ryan Ricelton were dismissed for 6 runs. After this, there was a 62 -run partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma, but despite this, the team remained under pressure.

Mumbai batsmen were seen struggling in the middle order. Tilak Verma scored 39 runs, while Suryakumar Yadav scored a fast innings of 48 runs in 28 balls. However, apart from these two, no other batsman could stand at the crease. Captain Hardik Pandya was dismissed for just 11 runs, while Robin Minj contributed 3 and Naman Dhir contributed 18 runs.

Gujarat bowlers

The Gujarat Titans bowlers performed well. Mohammad Siraj and the famous Krishna took two wickets each, while Cagiso Rabada and Sai Kishore had one success each. Mitchell Santner definitely scored 18 runs in the end, but by then the target had gone away. With this victory, Gujarat won their first win in the tournament, while Mumbai Indians suffered a second consecutive defeat.
