A grand cultural evening was organized in the Delhi Assembly on Sunday (March 30) to commemorate the Hindu New Year. On Chaitra Shukla Pratipada Vikram Samvat 2082, the event was organized in the assembly premises in collaboration with the Arts and Culture Department of Delhi Government. Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta, Assembly Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Art and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra etc. were present in the cultural evening.

The event started with Ganesh Vandana in which the artists performed cultural dance. While Kailash Kher enchanted all the audience with his voice in the event, the presentation of Kailasa band called for a new energy of the new year.

Symbol of our cultural identity

On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta said that on the occasion of Hindu New Year and Chaitra Navratri, this is the time to give a new direction to life with new consciousness, resolution and positive energy. It is associated with Indian tradition and almanac, which is a symbol of our cultural identity. The Hindu New Year reflects our unique history and rich cultural heritage, which is inspired by human ideals like Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Ahimsa Paramo Dharma.

The country is tied to the thread of unity

Vijendra Gupta said that Indian Sanatan culture has always tied the whole country in the thread of unity. Indian civilization has lived in every examination of time and its traditions and values are our responsibility. The new generation is getting away from its roots due to modern technical influences, and connecting it with Indian culture is the biggest challenge today. This work should start with family and society.

Hinduism is an ideology

Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta said that we need a national cultural policy, so that the new generation can become culturally rich. Indian culture is praised around the world for its easy, simple and gentle conduct. Hinduism is not just a religion, but an ideology based on tolerance, discipline and dialogue. This makes Indian life philosophy precious and it is our collective responsibility to protect it.

Protection of India's cultural heritage

While expressing his views, Vijendra Gupta emphasized that India's cultural heritage should be protected at all costs. He shared the inspirational words of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which gives a message to adopt nationalism, cultural pride, and Indian values. On this auspicious occasion of New Year, he appealed to everyone to take a pledge that we will not only adopt our cultural traditions, but will also protect them in every situation. Around 1500 people participated in the cultural evening event, in which people from different classes enjoyed the event.
