Synopsis

Sikander, directed by A. Murugadoss and starring Aamir Khan, collected Rs 26 crore on its first day, improving on his previous film but falling short of Tiger 3’s opening. The film, set against a ₹200 crore budget, narrates the compelling story of Sanjay Rajkot’s emotional journey after his wife’s tragic death.

Although this is undoubtedly a marked improvement over the first-day earnings of his previous movie, ‘Kisi Ka Bhai, Kisi Ki Jaan’ (Rs 13 crore), it still falls short of the spectacular Rs 53 crore opening day figures of ‘Tiger 3.’

Despite the hype, ‘Sikander’s first-day box-office figures were a tad underwhelming for a Salman Khan-starrer. As per a report by box-office tracker Sacnilk, the A Murugadoss directorial collected a modest Rs 26 crore on the day of its release.

On Sunday, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 20.95% in 2D and 22.96% in IMAX 2D.

According to Sacnilk, Sikandar saw its highest occupancy in Chennai at 46.67%, followed by Bengaluru at 28%. Jaipur and Kolkata registered 24.67%, while Hyderabad stood at 22%, the NCR region at 21%, and Mumbai at 20.67%.
