Citing Swamp, Znews reported that the incident took place during a pre-season warm-up for the 2025 GTCC China Series at the Ningbo International Circuit, ahead of the official race scheduled for April 18–20. While driving his car, numbered 85, Wang lost control while turning, causing the car to spin 360 degrees and crash into a barrier. The front end of the vehicle was heavily damaged, but Wang emerged unscathed.
Wang was able to exit the car on his own and was taken back to the pit area by a safety vehicle. The crashed vehicle was later removed from the track by the rescue team. Not long after, Wang resumed practice in a different car.
His management agency later reassured fans through a social media post, stating: “Stay calm, accelerate safely, and gain experience from racing through wind and rain. No. 85 is back on track!”
According to Theiradverse weather conditions in Ningbo made the track slippery, with heavy rain forming puddles that reduced tire grip and increased the risk of losing control. Several other drivers also experienced difficulties during the session. Experts noted such incidents are common in professional racing under wet conditions.
