Aurangzebpur located in Haridwar district has been renamed as Shivaji Nagar. Similarly, Ghaziwali has been made Arya Nagar. Regarding changing the name, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the names of various places are being changed in accordance with the spirit, Indian culture and heritage, so that people can take inspiration from the great men who contribute to Indian culture and its protection.
Please tell that the names of a total of 15 places in four districts have been changed. Many of these names were named after people of a particular religion. The Dhami government has taken this decision at a time when there is a lot of uproar and ruckus about Aurangzeb in Maharashtra. Similarly, the names of four places in Dehradun have also been changed. Mianwala has been made Ramjiwala, Pirwala as Kesari Nagar, Chandpur Khurd as Prithviraj Nagar and Abdullapur as Dakshanagar. Similarly, Nawabi Road in Nainital district will now be known as Atal Marg. ITI route from Panchakki will be known as Guru Govalkar Marg. At the same time, Sultanpur Patti, Nagar Panchayat of Udham Singh Nagar district, will be known as Kaushalya Puri.
