Plane passengers fight in mid-air brawl as row over reclining seat takes horror turn

A passenger was filmed lunging at another man on a as an argument over a reclining seat boiled over.

The angry pair exchanged words and then they had to be separated by other on the Jetstar flight to Bali from Melbourne, .

A traveller several seats back from the incident was recording, as one of the men pointed with his finger and argued with the other who was in the row behind. Other passengers watched in horror as the situation quickly escalated during the flight.

During the back and forth argument one of the men wearing a cap attempted to grab his counterpart by leaning over the seats in front. Luckily a quick-thinking man behind him managed to grab his arm to prevent the angered passenger from swinging.

Cabin crew rushed to the scene to de-escalate the situation Other passengers watching on in horror shouted ‘no’ to prevent the exchange going any further. The crew urged the duo to remain calm and one said: “Boys, that's enough.”

During the argument the man in the row in front stated: “Do you think this is enough? Do you think one of us is going to f***ing die? Drunk piece of s**t.”

It prompted the man in the black cap to get up and launch himself over fellow passengers to try and reach for the man in the aisle seat during the incident that happened last Saturday, March 29.

Five cabin crew in total attempted to restore order along with the help of other passengers. A Jetstar Airways spokesperson said: “Our operations teams are currently investigating this incident.

"We have a zero tolerance policy for disruptive and abusive behaviour on our flights. Our crew members are trained to de-escalate incidents involving unruly passengers and we thank them for how they managed this situation.”

The clip has been shared widely on social media with people critical of the way the two apparently couldn't compose their tempers. “How hard is it to just sit in your seat, keep your mouth shut and mind your own business. Stuck at 35,000 feet in a metal tube for 6 hours and someone is starting shit,” one person wrote.

While another said: “The only guy that got hurt was the one in the seat behind the guy in the aisle seat, minding his own business. Poor bastard."
