The Not Very Grand Tour is coming to Prime Video soon and it will see presenting trio , James May and Richard Hammond appear in an instalment from director Phil Churchward, who previously worked on Top Gear and The Grand Tour. Viewers may be expecting to see something similar to the original Grand Tour escapades, but it is understood the hosts will instead be looking back at nostalgic clips of the series, with Clarkson only set to star in the archive footage.

The special is due to air on April 18 with the first episode titled The Glory and The Power. The description reads: "In this episode, the team celebrate the combustion engine, with a look back at footage from past adventures and test drives."

News of the proposed format has not gone down well with fans, Zleun_Music said on : "The amount of people here BEGGING for them to return with more specials and news segments is hilarious. They did this for 22 years, One For The Road was a great finale, and you’re not satisfied?"

Seeteuf3l shared: "I don't think they're doing specials anymore. Jezza literally said that he is 'too unfit, fat and old' for that stuff." With AngusLynch09 adding: "Yeah, not happening. They're not producing anything 'new'."

Beahner added: "I mean…..they aren’t doing another show. It’s a clip program that has some previously shot segments never broadcast. I think there is going to be such disappointment for so many thinking this is a new show coming. Recognize what it will be and enjoy it when it comes."

Viewers said they would rather see segments like Conversation Street and The News make a comeback.

Ferna shared: "The News and Conversation Street are some of the best the trio have done consistently. I'd die for them to make a podcast with that format."

GeoHog713 agreed: "I would watch JUST a weekly series of Conversation Street."

Three other retrospectives have been slated for "later this year and 2026", with the titles The Grand-ish Tour: A Trip Down Memory Lane, A Bit Further Down Memory Lane and The Grand-ish Tour: Completely Lost Down Memory Lane.

The second instalment celebrates "epic driving moments in California, Morocco, Colorado and Scandinavia".

The hosts will "wince at the misery brought on by water and mud, remind Jeremy of his mechanical incompetence, and enjoy an excellent montage of each other falling over".

The penultimate entry will focus on their own mechanical creations including Jeremy's home-made SUV.

Meanwhile the final instalment "features everything from French hatchback racing and drifting Italian classics to an RV demolition derby and some massive ".
