Today, against Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai expressed confidence in Punjab's left-arm fast bowler Ashwini Kumar.

Took a wicket on the very first ball

Ashwini Kumar also lived up to the trust of the captain and team management on Mumbai's home ground. Mumbai won the toss and elected to bowl first. Captain Hardik Pandya handed the ball to Ashwini Kumar in the fourth over. Ashwini also lived up to the captain's trust.

He took the wicket of Kolkata captain Ajinkya Rahane on the very first ball. With this, he has become the fourth bowler of Mumbai Indians to take a wicket on the first ball in the IPL debut match. So far in IPL, there are 10 bowlers who have taken a wicket on the first ball of their debut match.

Ashwini Kumar bowled 3 overs and took 4 wickets for 24 runs at an economy of 8. First of all, he got Ajinkya Rahane caught out by Tilak Verma. After this, he took 2 wickets in the 11th over. On the third ball, Ashwini got Rinku Singh caught out by Naman Dheer. He bowled Manish Pandey on the last ball. In the 13th over, he bowled Andre Russell. Ashwini Kumar became the first Indian to take 4 wickets in IPL debut.
