Hindustan Aeronautics 2024-25: Hal's high flight: 30400 crores record
News Update April 01, 2025 09:24 PM

New Delhi. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has set a new record in earnings. In the financial year 2024-25 (Hindustan Aeronautics 2024-25), the company earned a revenue of Rs 30400 crore, which is higher than the previous year's 30381 crore. This earning is also a big thing because despite the lack of supply of light fighter aircraft and Dhruv advanced helicopters, it has become possible, as well as orders have increased. The company says that revenue is expected to increase further in the coming years.

HAL chief DK Sunil said that this achievement was achieved despite a decrease in supply of light fighter aircraft (LCA MK-1) and Dhruv Advance Light Helicopter (ALH). He reported that the supply of LCA was affected due to non -availability of engines, while the supply of ALH was affected due to accident in January 2025 and then the entire fleet being grounded. However, the supply of other products and services was accelerated, which helped maintain revenue.

Improvement in engine supply
According to HAL, the American company Ge Aerospace has submitted the first F404-IN20 engine out of 99 for LCA MK-1A last week. The company has also assured that production is being intensified to fulfill the order. An order of Rs 48000 crore was placed in February 2021 for the supply of 83 MK-1A aircraft for the Indian Air Force. The GE Aerospace is planning to give 12 engines this year.

Alh still grounded, investigation continues
However, ALH's military fleet is still grounded. In January, the accident of Dhruv Helicopter, a Coast Guard in Porbandar, Gujarat, was caused by a “Swashplate fracture”. Experts are investigating the causes of failure of this important component. Swashplate assembly is an important part of ALH's transmission system.

Tremendous boom in order
HAL also focused on increasing production capacity this year. Additional production lines were set up for LCA MK-1A and Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40 aircraft, as well as Aero engine capacity in Koraput, Odisha. Last week, the Ministry of Defense signed two contracts of Rs 62700 crore with HAL, including 156 intense light combat helicopters for the armed forces. In September 2024, HAL also received a large order of Rs 26000 crore.

Expect better performance
According to HAL, during 2024-25, the company received Rs 102000 crore in new manufacturing contracts and Rs 17500 crore in repair and overhall contracts. Currently, the company's order book has reached Rs 184000 crore, while it was Rs 94129 crore at the beginning of the year. HAL said, “The company is ready for further performance in the financial year 2025-26, with the supply stabilizing, new orders and capacity growth.”
