A recent Evercade online showcase has shed light on lots of new hardware and software releases for 2025. As part of the latest online showcase (which you can watch below), Evercade announced plans to release new Super Pocket handhelds, as well as multiple new cartridges packed with a variety of retro games. The headline announcement is the release of the Neo Geo Super Pocket, which launches with regular and limited edition variants.

Available to , the £69.99 Neo Geo Super Pocket Limited Edition handheld has 14 SNK games pre-installed on the device. This includes Metal Slug X, Fatal Fury Special, Samurai Shodown II, Alpha Mission II, Blazing Star, King of the Monsters 2: The Next Thing, Last Resort, Mutation Nation, Over Top, Sengoku 3, Shock Troopers: 2nd Squad, Soccer Brawl, The Last Blade and Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy.

The Limited Edition Super Pocket features a red colour scheme and multicoloured buttons inspired by the original Neo Geo arcade cabinets. The console is limited to just 3,000 individually numbered units. It ships to pre-order customers on June 26.

If you miss out on the Limited Edition Super Pocket, then you can pre-order the regular version, which comes with the same games and also has a June 26 release date. The only real difference is the plain black colour scheme and £49.99 price tag. You can now.

Elsewhere, Evercade announced the Data East Super Pocket handheld, which comes with 18 classic arcade games. This includes B-wings, Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja, BreakThru, BurgerTime, Burnin' Rubber, Chain Reaction, Crude Buster and Dark Seal). That's on top of Joe & Mac Returns, Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja, Karate Champ, Lock 'N' Chase, Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory, Spinmaster and Super BurgerTime, as well as Edward Randy, Tumblepop and Wizard Fire.

The aforementioned Super Pocket handhelds are compatible with all of the Evercade cartridge collections, including the newly announced compilations.

Indeed, as part of the Evercade showcase event, the company unveiled the Windjammers, Karnov & Friends cartridge, the Gremlin Collection Volume 2, and the Neo Geo Arcade 1 Collection.

As the name suggests, Windjammers, Karnov & Friends contains the original arcade version of Windjammers and the side-scrolling platform/shooter Karnov. Atomic Runner Chelnov, Rohga: Armor Force, and Vapor Trail: Hyper Offence Formation will join the games.

The Gremlin Collection Volume 2 contains four games from the 32-bit era of consoles, including top-down shooters Loaded and Re-Loaded, as well as Hogs of War and Buggy.

Finally, the Neo Geo Arcade 1 Collection contains six classic SNK games, including iconic side-scrolling shooter Metal Slug.
