CUET UG 2025 exam will be conducted from 8 May to 1 June, but even before this, many universities have started preparations for admission in undergraduate courses, including Delhi University. After the release of the CUET UG results, DU will also open the seat allotment system, but do you know that if two candidates get equal marks in CUET UG, then how will they get admission to Delhi University? DU has already told me about this.
Delhi University has said that if such a situation arises, then the candidate will be selected based on tie-breaker 12th marks. According to media reports, a DU official said that it has often been seen that at the time of admission, the marks of two students are found to be the same. Many times the number of students taking admission in a subject is very high. In case of such a situation, there is a provision to give them admission through a tie-breaker rule.
What is the tie-breaker rule?
In the CUET UG exam, if two students have the same marks and seats are limited, then the tie-breaker rule is used to decide who should be given admission. In this rule, first of all, the marks of 12th are seen. The student who has more marks in 12th is given priority, but if their marks are the same in 12th, then in such a situation their age is checked. The older one is given priority for admission.
In how many colleges of DU will admission be given?
Based on the CUET UG 2025 score, admission will be given in 79 Undergraduate (UG) courses in a total of 69 colleges of Delhi University. Many colleges also give admission in diploma and certificate courses based on CUET score.
Meanwhile, Delhi University has also updated the eligibility criteria for admission to BA Honors (English) through CUET UG 2025. Interested students will now have to take the English paper along with any three subjects from 'List B' in CUET 2025, which includes domain-specific subjects.
To pursue a BA (Hons) in English in 2025, candidates can choose one of the two subject combinations, namely English (List A) plus any three subjects from List B or English and another language from List A plus any two subjects from List B. The highest score from any combination will determine the final merit list.
