One of the longest-running sitcoms on Indian television, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah , recently made headlines when an entertainment portal reported that the production house had finalized a replacement for Disha Vakani as Daya Bhabhi . Amidst these speculations, the show's producer, Asit Kumarr Modi , shared details about Daya Bhabhi's return. In an exclusive conversation with Times of India TV, Modi revealed that his wife, Neela, is a huge fan of Daya Bhabhi and frequently asks him about her comeback.

While speaking about Daya Bhabhi's return, Asit Kumarr Modi shared, "Aaj hum Daya bhabhi ko bhi zarur miss kar rahe hain lekin Daya bhabhi jab bhi aaye…. Agar wohi Daya bhabhi aajaye toh hum bahot khush honge aur agar nayi Daya bhabhi bhi aaye toh hum character ko pakad ke rakhenge. My wife is the biggest fan of Daya bhabhi and she missed her a lot. Roz woh mujhe ghar par poochti hai Daya bhabhi ko lekar aarahe ho. So just wait for sometime Daya bhabhi will be back very soon. Itna sabar kiya hai thoda sabar aur Daya bhabhi jaldi aayenge. I miss her a lot and we will get her back soon."

Expressing his joy over the show's impressive performance on the TRP charts, he said, "It is a great feeling that the show is doing extremely well. It is all because of the love of the people and my team’s hard work. Even after 17 years, 4500 episodes and without any generation leap, our show is still doing well. People watch the show on digital platform and our YouTube channel as well. The viewership of the show is good and it is gives me immense happiness that our hard work has paid off well. But we never make the show with a thought that it should get good TRP ratings . We only think how can we bring out an entertaining episode which viewers can enjoy watching and if the TRP is also good, it’s like an advantage. Our focus is always on the episodes.

In one of our previous interviews, the producer had shared, "I understand there are few changes that need to be made as far as the show is concerned. Daya Bhabhi has been one character which the audience has not been able to forget. The character has been missing from the show and they still miss her on the show and want her back. But we have to understand that Disha Vakani, who played Daya Bhabhi, has new responsibilities, I respect her a lot. She is married, has two kids and has her family's responsibilities on her shoulders. She is focusing on her personal life at present. Like an audience, even I want to see her back on the show."
