Chile: President Gabriel Boric Font has come on a 5-day visit to India. Boric, who came to India for the first time, was welcomed by PM Modi at Hyderabad House. President Boric praised PM Modi a lot during his address at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

He said that PM Modi can talk to every leader in the world. He is an important geopolitical player these days.

'Modi is an important player in geopolitics…'

President Boric said in his address, 'PM Modi, nowadays your position is such that you can talk to every leader in the world. You are supporting Trump, Zelensky, European Union, Latin American leaders in Greece or Iran. This is something that no other leader can say now. That is why you are an important player in the geopolitical environment nowadays.'

Chile–India relations

The President of Chile also thanked him for the warm welcome he received on his arrival in India. He said, 'I want to thank you for the warm welcome I received here. No one from Chile has come to India for the last 16 years and India has changed a lot in these 16 years.' He also called for further strengthening the relations between Chile and India.

He said, 'Chile is a country that is connected to the world and now we want to further improve our relations with India. Today we have signed many MoUs.' Let us tell you that Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font is on a visit to India from 1-5 April 2025 to commemorate the completion of 76 years of diplomatic relations between India and Chile. He has come to India on the invitation

of PM Modi. Many senior officials including the Minister of Agriculture, Mining, Foreign Affairs, Arts and Heritage and a large number of business leaders have also come to India with him. Apart from New Delhi, President Boric will also visit Mumbai, Agra and Bengaluru.
