Mahesh Anand a renowned on-screen villain in 90s struggled to find peace in both his professional as well as personal life. Despite married five times and had alleged relationships with 12 women he never found long-lasting happiness and his death was something that no one should suffer.
His acting debut came in 1984 with the film Karishma where he played the character of Dev. His towering physique made him quite suitable for villainous roles. He shared screen space with Bollywood legends like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar delivering memorable fight sequences. He appeared in over 300 films and some of his most notable projects include Karishma Bhavani Junction Insaaf Shahenshah Sone Par Suhaaga Ganga Jamuna Saraswati and Toofaan.
On the personal front Mahesh faced hardships in his love life. The actresss first marriage was to Reena Roys sister Barkha Roy. He then tied the knot with Miss India International Erica Maria D’Souza with whom he had a son. In 1992 he married Madhu Malhotra and in 2000 he tied the knot with the actress Usha Bachani. His fifth and final marriage was to a Russian woman named Lana who he introduced as his wife on Facebook.
In later years Mahesh expressed his struggles on Facebook sharing about his lack of work estrangement from his son and a shocking financial betrayal from his stepbrother of Rs 6 crore leaving him unable to afford even basic necessities.
Sadly Mahesh Anand passed away on February 9 2019 at the age of 57. His death reflected a sense of deep loneliness in his life. He was found unconscious on his sofa surrounded by a bottle of alcohol and untouched food discovered only when his maid informed his sister after failing to get a response from the actor since 2 days. Later the post-mortem reports revealed that he had been dead for three days serving a stark reminder of despair even those who achieve fame and recognition.
