A good thriller story is suppose to keep you hooked till the very end. A movie where the plot is unpredictable where you rack you brain to find the killer or unfold the mystery yourself where the time passes in a jiffy that is the recipe of a good suspense thriller. OTT is replete films and web shows that belong to the genre of murder mystery suspense and psychological thriller. But finding a good one is like looking for a needle in the haystack. However that does not mean there isnt one in Indian cinemascape. There are some films which are not commercialised but are good stories. One such is this 2018 film that was made in Tamil. The movie in focus Ratsasan loosely translates to Demon was directed by Ram Kumar and stars Vishnu Vishal Amala Paul and Radha Ravi among others. The plot revolves around a serial criminal who is on a spree of hunting down teen age girls and murdering them brutally. How the sub-inspector meanders through the killings his family and action is what will keep you hooked and the music score adds on to the production value.  According to to IMDb report its took the writer around two years to complete the script. It also has rating of 8.3. This 2 hour and 23 minute long film was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 20 crores. It mustered critical appreciation and was remade in in Telugu as Rakshasudu. Its Hindi remake is titled Cuttputlli. that features Akshay Kumar Rakul Preet Singh Chandrachur Singh Sargun Mehta as prominent figures in the story.
