Speaking of KKR’s possible title defense there will also be some records they will be looking to break in the season. The franchise is already one of the most successful teams in the IPL being the only team after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians to win more than two titles. 1. Become the third IPL franchise to defend their IPL title

The only teams who have successfully defended their title are CSK and Mumbai Indians (MI) who are also the most successful teams in the tournament. Though KKR have got three titles to their name, they have not been able to defend their title at all. In fact when they won last season, they had to wait for 10 years to win the title. This will be an opportunity where they can finally achieve this feat this season.

2. Become the first franchise to defend their title under three different skippers

There might have been instances where an IPL title is defended, but the KKR can set a record, becoming the only IPL team to defend their trophy under a different captain, which has never been done before. Last season, the side was led by , and this time it is up to Rahane to keep their hopes of defending the title alive. KKR is already the only franchise that featured two IPL-winning skippers, and this will be another achievement that will put them in the record books.

3. Most matches won in a single IPL season

If KKR dominate IPL 2025 with consistent performances, they have a chance to break the record for the most matches won in a season (currently 14 wins, held by Gujarat Titans in 2022 and Mumbai Indians in 2020). Winning 15 or more games in the season would set a new benchmark.
