Enzo Maresca has called on Jadon Sancho to shoot more as speculation over the on-loan winger's future continues to grow.

is coming to the end of a season-long loan at , who agreed a deal with Manchester United last summer that included an obligation to buy for around £25million. However, reports in recent weeks have suggested there is a £5million clause that the Blues can activate to get themselves out of signing the 25-year-old on a permanent basis this summer.

The United loanee has made a total of 19 starts in all competitions for the west Londoners this term and has appeared in 29 matches altogether. That total is already five more than what he managed in the entirety of the 2023/24 campaign, but his end product has led to plenty of criticism - particularly since the turn of the year.

Ironically, Sancho's last goal for Chelsea came in the win against Thursday evening's opponents Tottenham back in December. That was his second goal for the Blues in all competitions and when you see his shooting statistics, you get a better understanding as to why that is.

Since the 4-3 win against Spurs on December 8, the winger has had 13 shots (two on target) across all competitions. While believes all of Chelsea's wingers can improve in the final third, he had a very specific instruction for Sancho to hopefully follow.

"In terms of our wingers, we arrive there many, many times," Maresca said when asked about Sancho's lack of threat in front of goal. "Then it is up to them if they want to cross, go one-v-one, if they want to shoot.

"Probably, Jadon could shoot much more. That is something we have invited many times. Hopefully he is going to shoot more from now on. For us, it's important to arrive there, with Jadon, with Noni [Madueke], with Pedro [Neto], with Tyrique [George]. And from there to create chances."

Sancho will be hoping to answer Maresca's call on Thursday night where Chelsea host Tottenham in the Premier League after two-and-a-half weeks without a match.
