RCB vs. GT IPL 2025: Former CSK player Dwayne Bravo and RCB star fast bowler Bhuvaneshwar Kumar have now taken 183 wickets between them, making them the tournament’s best wicket-takers. Bhuvneshwar became the joint-highest wicket-taker fast bowler after dismissing Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill in the fifth over.
Despite winning their first two games in the current season, the hosts lost the match by eight wickets, thus his efforts were in vain.
Although Bravo reached this milestone after 161 games, Bhuvneshwar did it after 178 games. Bravo took 183 wickets.
He is now barely behind Piyush Chawla (192) and Yuzvendra Chahal (206) as the third-highest Indian wicket-getter in this competition.
Bhuvneshwar, who is regarded as one of the top fast bowlers in the nation because of his ability to generate swing, demonstrated his bowling abilities with an efficient stint and conceded runs at an economy of 5.8.
Gill had hit a six off Bhuvneshwar, but he was out on the next ball after misfiring, sending the ball to Liam Livingstone, who was standing deep.
However, GT recovered thanks to Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler, who completely outplayed the RCB bowlers.
With flawless shot timing, Sudharsan hit Yash Dayal for a boundary in the match-winning knock that was quite the opposite of what was needed in the shortest format.
The ball then passed over Jitesh Sharma’s head, and he stepped over to smash Josh Hazlewood for a maximum.
However, Jitesh Sharma made the grab when he attempted to play that shot again.
The Shubman Gill-led squad struggled for a long after Sudharsan’s wicket, but Buttler got them over the finish line.
Buttler was at his best and hammered sixes for joy when he had found his groove after originally seeming to be struggling.
The Rajat Patidar-led team will play the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede stadium the following week, while GT will play SRH in their home on April 7.
