was spotted ringing the silver-coated Eden Gardens bell along with Muthiah Muralitharan as a customary tradition to get Match 15 of the current edition of the Indian Premier League between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) underway. Interestingly, the current fixture marks Rinku's 50th game for the franchise.
SRH's spin-bowling coach and mentor was called to give company to Rinku as a mark of tribute for him in front of the jam-packed crowd at the venue. The two were seen exchanging a warm smile with each other during the bell-ringing ceremony.
Check the video hereApart from the season in 2021 where Rinku was ruled out due to a knee injury, he has featured in every instalment ever since his debut in the IPL in 2018. IPL 2023 was the most-successful season for Rinku, as he managed to register 474 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 149.52.
Rinku was the most expensive player which the management retained ahead of the two-day mega auction in Jeddah last year. He was retained at a price of INR 13 crore. It was pretty clear that the think tank including owner, Shah Rukh Khan, had immense belief in his potential as a player.

As far as the ongoing game is concerned, the Kolkata-based franchise recovered well to end their powerplay on a sweet note. They lost two early wickets in the form of Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine. However, skipper Ajinkya Rahane and youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi led a vital comeback into the game. Earlier in the evening, Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to field first.
