After a period in beta testing, Google has officially released the Android Auto 14.0 stable update for users worldwide. This new version brings significant changes, most notably the integration of Gemini Live, which begins to replace Google Assistant in Android Auto-enabled vehicles.

Gemini Live Integration: Gemini replaces Google Assistant in newer systems, featuring a new user interface with blue and purple highlights.

New Microphone Icon: The previous four-color icon has been replaced with a minimalist white microphone, signaling the shift to Gemini.

Expanded Climate Controls: Users can now manage air conditioning and temperature settings directly through Android Auto.

Navigation Improvements: Support for third-party apps like WeGo Maps is being tested in select regions.

Assistant Phase-Out and Compatibility Notes

While Gemini Live becomes the default voice assistant on newer systems, Google Assistant will remain available on older devices until later this year. Google has confirmed that Android Auto 14 requires:

Operating System: Android 10 or newer
