Berlin Bayern Munich overcame a deficit to win 3-1 at Augsburg on Friday, extending their lead at the top of the Bundesliga and snapping the host’s 11-game winning streak. Harry Kane scored once again.

Bayern got off to a strong start and controlled the first few games despite the absence of important players like Manuel Neuer and Alphonso Davies. However, according to Xinhua, Dimitrios Giannoulis’ strong volley onto the net’s ceiling in the 30th minute gave Augsburg the advantage.

Just before halftime, Bayern equalized. After demonstrating poise by slicing past opponents and shooting past goalkeeper Finn Dahmen in the 42nd minute, Jamal Musiala was substituted off soon after due to a hamstring injury.

Just before the hour, Augsburg defender Cedric Zesiger was given his second yellow card for hauling down Kane during the break, which turned the tide of the match. With a quick ball from Joshua Kimmich to Michael Olise, who whipped in a superb cross for Kane to head home his 23rd league goal of the season, Bayern took advantage of the next free-kick.

Bayern controlled the match thanks to their numerical advantage. Kane, Leroy Sane, and Olise had opportunities to end the match, but a mix of subpar finishing and desperate defense kept them from doing so.

Chrislain Matsima, a defender for Augsburg, redirected Sane’s effort into his own goal in the 93rd minute to give the visitor the victory.

Augsburg is still in seventh place, while Bayern tops the standings by nine points.

“We had anticipated a difficult game. “Playing Augsburg is never easy,” said Vincent Kompany, the coach of Bayern. It’s a significant victory for us. We accept the three points and go on.
