Actually, a temple is located near Gadiya village on the banks of the Kalisindh river, about 15 km from Nalkheda village of Agar-Malwa in Madhya Pradesh. This temple is known as Gadiyaghat Wali Mataji. The priest of the temple says that earlier he used to light an oil lamp here, but about five years ago his mother had asked him to light a lamp with water in a dream. After this, when the priest woke up in the morning, he took out water from the nearby Kalisindh river and poured it into the lamp.

After this, as soon as the burning matchstick was taken near the cotton kept in the lamp, the flame started burning. Seeing this, the priest himself was surprised and he did not tell anyone about this for about two months. Later, when he told some villagers about this, they also did not believe it at first, but when they also poured water in the lamp and lit it, the lamp lit up. It is said that after this the news of this miracle spread in the entire village. Since then, lamps are lit in this temple with the water of Kalisindh river. It is said that when water is poured into the lamp, it turns into a sticky liquid and the lamp lights up.

However, according to local residents, this water-burning flame does not burn during the rainy season. As the water level of the Kalisindh river rises during the rainy season, the temple is submerged in water, making it impossible to worship here, however, the flame is re-lit on the first day of Sharadiya Navratri i.e. Ghatasthapana day, which continues to burn until the next year's rains.
