In Saturday’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel chose to bat after winning the toss against Chennai Super Kings.

Chennai enters the home game having lost their last two games. For the first time since 2008, they suffered a crushing home loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru after defeating the fierce rival Mumbai Indians. They went to Guwahati in an attempt to regain the winning momentum, but they were unable to meet the Rajasthan Royals’ 182-run mark.

The Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have been dominating the current campaign. They had defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Lucknow Super Giants twice in a row when they got to the Chepauk. Even though their campaign opener against LSG was nerve-racking, they managed to win by one wicket thanks to Ashutosh Sharma’s outstanding play. DC maintained their winning run against SRH with a polished effort.

“We are going to bat first,” said Axar Patel, captain of the Delhi Capitals, after winning the toss. It seems that the bowlers will get assistance. As the game goes on, expect it to grow slower. I really benefit from the fact that several of the guys on our squad have led previous teams. The same mix. This game isn’t for Faf. The musician is Sameer Rizvi.

During the toss, Ruturaj Gaikwad, captain of the Chennai Super Kings, said, “We wanted to bat as well. It seems quite parched. Although it’s a little overcast, not much will change. In T20 cricket, you always want momentum. The conversation has been good overall. We can become better at fielding every single day. We want to take the initiative. The elbow is in excellent condition. Conway replaces Overton. Tripathi brings in Mukesh.

Jake Fraser-McGurk, KL Rahul (w), Abishek Porel, Tristan Stubbs, Sameer Rizvi, Axar Patel (c), Ashutosh Sharma, Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohit Sharma are the Delhi Capitals’ starting lineup.
Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad (c), Vijay Shankar, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (w), Ravichandran Ashwin, Noor Ahmad, Mukesh Choudhary, Khaleel Ahmed, and Matheesha Pathirana are the Chennai Super Kings’ playing eleven.
