Patna: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday accused opposition parties, such as the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), of “dreaming” and maintained that the state’s population is now focused on development.
Choudhary also accused RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav of corruption and poor administration in an interview with the media report. His conflicting remarks, both within and outside the parliamentary session, were specifically criticized by him.
“Prime Minister Modi has the blessings of the people, while the Congress party and RJD are daydreaming. It is evident from Nitish Kumar’s constant labor that the people of Bihar would now solely consider progress. Both Lalu Yadav’s remarks within and outside the House have been seen by the public. The Bihar DyCM said, “You (Lalu Yadav) did nothing; you stole the poor people’s money.”
Five JD(U) leaders recently left the party after the Waqf Amendment Bill was approved by the Parliament. Nadeem Akhtar, Raju Nayyar, Tabrez Siddiqui Alig, Mohammad Shahnawaz Malik, and Kasim Ansari were among the party leaders that left the JD(U).
All secular political parties, including BJP MPs and supporters, were asked to reject the Waqf Amendment Bill by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB). The resignations occur as Bihar prepares for the assembly elections, which is a crucial moment for JDU.
In response to some JD(U) leaders’ resignations over the Waqf Bill, JD(U) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad said on Saturday that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is committed to the welfare of minorities and that his backing of the Waqf Amendment Bill would not harm Muslims’ interests.
In order to approve the measure, the Rajya Sabha sat into midnight on Thursday. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar declared, “Absent zero, Ayes 128 and Noes 95. The bill has been approved. Following a lengthy debate in which 288 MPs voted in favor of the Bill and 232 against it, the Lok Sabha approved the Waqf (Amendment) Bill after midnight on Wednesday.
