While Varma did not do well in terms of acting the films directed by him did magic on the big screens. And he is one of the renowned directors in the industry. In a career spanning 35 years Ram Gopal Varma has made more than 36 Bollywood films as well as dozens of Telugu and Tamil films. However only 26 movies of the actor turned out to be good films. A look at Ram Gopals career reveals that his last three films barely touched the margin of Rs 1 crore. Out of 10 movies hardly 6 were considered decent and average; the rest did not even make a profit as per a report by NDTV. Despite this Ram Gopal Varma is considered a hit at the box office. The 90s era belonged to Ram Gopal which included his three famous films Shiva Rangeela and Satya. However soon in the 2000s Ram Gopal Varmas films started to witness a decline and none of his films barely made a profit. Films like Company Jungle and Sarkar narrowly escaped being flops. Since 2017 the director has not been able to give a single hit. Back in 2018 the director shot a short film with a porn star Mia Malkova. Despite all this Gopal is considered one of the most influential filmmakers of his generation.
