In addition to participating in Sri Rama Navami festivities in the district, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy used the occasion to examine the quality of fine rice being distributed under the Public Distribution System (PDS). The Chief Minister went to the Sarapaka village residence of PDS recipient Booram Srinivas after attending the Ram Navami puja. Reddy and his Cabinet colleagues lunched at the home of the family.

He engaged with the residents of the family throughout the visit, asking about their living circumstances and the quality of the rice being provided.

The lady of the home, Thulasamma, said she was happy with the higher quality of the rice, pointing out that they were now getting fine rice rather than the coarse kind that had been supplied. She expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for making sure that families in need of financial assistance had better options.

Reddy also asked for opinions on other government programs, including as the free 200 units of power, the ₹500 LPG cylinders, and the free state-run bus transportation for women. Thulasamma expressed her gratitude, highlighting the free bus travel program in particular. It is important to remember that on March 30, the Chief Minister officially introduced the PDS’s free fine rice program in Huzurnagar, Suryapet district.
