Crores of vehicles pass on the roads in India every day. Many of these vehicles pass through state highways, while others pass through national highways. During this, vehicles also find many toll plazas on the way.
All vehicles passing through these toll plazas have to pay tolls. If we talk about India at present, there are around 1065 toll plazas. Which generate revenue of several thousand crores of rupees annually.
But let us tell you that some rules have been made for all the vehicles passing through the toll plaza. Some of these rules are also for toll free. That is, toll is free for some people. Those people do not have to pay toll tax at toll plazas.
Let us tell you that if you live very close to the toll plaza. Then you do not need to pay toll. You are given exemption for this by the National Highway Authority of India.
If your house is within 20 km radius of the toll plaza, then the National Highway Authority of India provides the facility of toll-free travel. However, you have to prove it.
For this, you have to show an official document as proof of your address. Only after that you get this exemption. If you are unable to show any such document. Then you have to pay toll.
Apart from this, let us also tell you that if you are lying. And are caught trying to avoid toll by doing fraud. Then you have to pay toll tax. Apart from this, you also have to pay a fine. That is, you get a double blow.
