Deepak's postmortem report confirmed that he died due to strangulation. Based on the complaint of Deepak's brother Piyush alias Mukul, the police filed a case against his wife Shivani and an unknown person for murdering Deepak.

Deepak Kumar, a technical employee posted at the carriage and wagon of Najibabad railway station in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, was strangled to death by his wife. After the murder, she herself took him to the doctor by making a hue and cry of having a heart attack. However, the post-mortem report revealed that it was a murder. The police have arrested the accused wife. The police is investigating whether the reason for the murder is a love affair or some other reason.

Deepak Kumar (29), a resident of Mukrandpur village in Haldaur, had a love marriage with Shivani, a resident of Chauhadpur Nahtaur, on January 17, 2024. Deepak, a railway employee, was living with his wife in a rented house in Adarsh Nagar, Najibabad.

On Friday afternoon, Shivani informed her mother-in-law and brother-in-law over phone that her husband Deepak Kumar had suffered a heart attack and took him to a private hospital in Najibabad. After this, she tried to get him admitted to the community health center in Samipur. But the doctors did not admit him. By the time Deepak reached Bijnor hospital, his death had been confirmed.

After the death, Shivani did not want to get her husband's body post-mortem done, but when the family members saw the marks on his neck, they insisted on a post-mortem. The post-mortem report showed that Deepak died due to strangulation. After this, the deceased's brother Piyush alias Mukul filed a complaint in Najibabad police station against Shivani and an unknown person for murdering Deepak. The police took Shivani into custody on the basis of the complaint.

CO Nitesh Pratap Singh and police station in-charge Jai Bhagwan Singh have questioned Shivani. Shivani kept misleading the police, later she accepted the murder. The police is trying to find out who was with her when she committed the murder. The police is also investigating other aspects including the love affair.

While registering a report in the case of murder of the railway employee, the wife of the deceased is being questioned. Efforts are being made to know the reason for the murder. Whether it is a love affair or any other aspect, all are being investigated thoroughly. - Sanjeev Bajpai, SP City Bijnor
