The second stage of the project, which involves extending the double track up to Janghai, has started after the doubling work between Pratapgarh and Gaura railway stations was finished. By the end of November, the Railway Department hopes to complete this section.

There are three stages to the doubling project between Jangiha and Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh Junction. Train services are currently operating smoothly on the new double line in the first phase, which is already finished and runs from Pratapgarh to Gaura.

The last stage, which will cover the roughly 27-kilometer distance from Gaura to Jangiha, is now being built. This section is the last part of the Lucknow-Varanasi route that has not yet been duplicated.

DRM SM Sharma gave the crew instructions to hasten the remaining work during a recent inspection. The goal is to complete the 27-kilometer double track by November 2025, and building is proceeding at a steady rate, according to Senior Section Engineer Ajay Anand.

The project would greatly improve rail operations once it is finished, particularly for the two dozen trains that pass through Pratapgarh Junction. Along the route, it will also increase train speed and schedule effectiveness.
