In the Farrukhabad area, outsourced workers in a variety of departments—particularly in the health sector—have long been exploited, subjected to arbitrary deductions, irregular honoraria, and a lack of basic amenities. The Uttar Pradesh government is now finalizing the establishment of the Uttar Pradesh Outsource Service Corporation as a major step to solve these problems.
In addition to providing necessary benefits like EPF, ESI, and job security, the program seeks to expedite the hiring of outsourced workers and guarantee the prompt payment of honoraria. Plans are in place to bring all outsourced personnel under the new corporation’s jurisdiction, and the Health Department has been requested to provide comprehensive records of each employee.
The Health Department now employs around 150 outsourced workers who are paid by other organizations. These organizations often withhold arbitrary sums, postpone payments, and neglect to timely deposit contributions into ESI and EPF accounts. Employees have also complained of being denied statutory reservations for women, SC/ST, OBC, and Divyang groups, as well as being compelled to pay bribes during renewals.
After joining the company, workers will receive timely deposits into their ESI and EPF accounts, as well as transparent wage transfers—honoraria will be credited on the first of each month. Women workers will have access to maternity leave, and the range of benefits will be greatly increased.
Dr. Avnindra Kumar, the Chief Medical Officer, said that the department is currently gathering personnel data for submittal. The company will also pay social security payments, he noted.
Advantages Offered:
-A compensation of Rs 2.5 to Rs 7 lakh would be given in the event of an unintentional death.
-Depending on the length of service, post-retirement pensions would be paid out in the range of Rs 1,000 to Rs 7,500.
-Deceased workers’ widows would get lifetime pensions ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,900.
-Parents of unmarried workers who pass away will also be entitled for pensions in the same category.
-Free medical care at ESI hospitals will be available to staff members and their families.
This action aims to eliminate the long-standing exploitation of workers who are outsourced and provide them with the respect and safety they are entitled to.
